CASE STUDY: SOUTH WEST JAPAN FESTIVAL
The City of Bunbury is a proud Sister City of Setagaya in Japan. Each year to celebrate this relationship, Your Turn Events holds a city-wide festival, including events, activities, the iconic Matsuri Day, and the newly introduced Floating Lantern Ceremony.

Yellow Digital joined the team in 2022 as Marketing Manager and Designer, and has helped solidify the SWJF brand in the South West and expand into Perth and the Great Southern region as well.

This event is always a great collaboration between local businesses and community groups, and spreading the music, art and culture of Japan throughout the South West is a fantastic way to keep our Sister Cities relationship alive and thriving!

Social Media management
The South West Japan Festival has had it's biggest two years yet, attracting audiences from as far as GinGin in 2022 and Augusta in 2023. It is incredibly popular with the Japanese students of Perth as well, who are always excited to interact with the Festival!

My role was to expand the reach of the Festival, and to create all visual communications for both print and online.

Yellow Digital has also jumped on board as a Sponsor for the past two years, creating a website for the Festival for free, and running social media and photography at all events.

ONE CENTRALISED POINT OF INFORMATION FOR FESTIVAL GOERS...
When Yellow came on board, there were a few different platforms being used for communications, ticket sales and event information. In 2023, Yellow sponsored the design and creation of a NEW website, which combined all of this information into one easy to find location.

This also helped with their vision of creating a more environmentally conscious event, by adding the option for festival goers to download an online program and reducing paper wastage from printing.
HOW YELLOW HELPS THE SWJF EACH YEAR:
-
Step 1: QuestionnaireFirst we need to work out who you are, your business name, your service area, your target market, and your requirements. You will be sent a questionnaire asking you about your business, competitors, and what makes you unique in the market.
-
Step 2: Logo DesignFrom here, I will set to work designing you a unique logo that encapsulates your brand's essence and identity. You will be presented with 2 logo versions, with rationales. Simply select the option you'd like to proceed with, and request up to 2 rounds of revisions until you are 100% satisfied with the final result. OPTIONAL EXTRA: At this point, you can choose to have additional visual branding elements added (for a charge). These can be used as a brand pattern, as decorative elements, or to help aid your audience in recognising your brand easily.
-
Step 3: Logo DeliveryOnce you're satisfied with your new brand identity, you will be supplied with: PRIMARY LOGO: To be used on the majority of your marketing collateral. - Full colour version - 'Reversed' version (for when your logo is being used on a coloured background) - White version - Black version all in RGB and CMYK, in .ai, .svg, .png and .pdf formats. SECONDARY LOGO: To be used in marketing collateral where the Primary Logo doesn't quite work or fit the space. Your secondary logo may have a few elements shuffled or dropped for legibility. - Full colour version - 'Reversed' version (for when your logo is being used on a coloured background) - White version - Black version all in RGB and CMYK, in .ai, .svg, .png and .pdf formats. SUBMARK LOGO: A very simple version of your logo - typically including a shape or a graphic element from your brand with a nod to your brand name. - Full colour version - 'Reversed' version (for when your logo is being used on a coloured background) - White version - Black version all in RGB and CMYK, in .ai, .svg, .png and .pdf formats.
-
Step 4: Optional Add-OnsOnce you have your logo, you can choose from a range of options to give your brand the best foot forward into your market.
